About me

As of 9-2-25 I am not accepting new clients as my practice is full. I will update this message if that changes

I have a license to practice mental health counseling in the state of New York as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC; License # D006928) and I am accredited by the Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) as a Master Credentialed Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC-M; #31681). I have an undergraduate degree from the University of Maryland in Sociology and a graduate degree from Bowie State University in Counseling-Psychology.

Personal characteristics that I may bring to my sessions:

  • I am an Army Veteran who served in Afghanistan
  • I worked with children of all ages in a non-clinical setting for 5 years
  • I have experience with couples, individuals, adolescents, and teens
  • I have facilitated groups and one-on-one sessions
  • I am registered with the Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) as a Provider of Clinical Screening and Assessment Services for the Impaired Driving Offender to screen, assess, and if needed, treat drivers in NYS with DWIs or DWAIs.
  • My Business is registered with the Better Business Bureau as of September 2025, A+ rating

I studied not only the characteristics of what may make individuals mentally unhealthy, but what makes people well too. I do my best to understand happiness, something not easy for many to define.

I worked in New York for four and a half years for a substance abuse facility. In that facility I began to engage hundreds of clients who are not only people suffered with Substance Misuse, but also those struggling with the consequences of trauma. That experience provided me the opportunity to become an anger management specialist which I continue to utilize in my practice.

In private practice, I strive to guide people towards happiness and resiliency. I am only a guide. I believe each individual holds the key to their own happiness. I hope to help you open the door, but it is my understanding that it is up to each person to do the work themselves to unlock that door. I look forward to hearing from you.
